NC Tech Company Partners With Medical Society To Release Free Telemedicine Platform During COVID-19 Pandemic
WILMINGTON, NC – Greenlight Ventures, a healthcare technology incubator, temporarily is shifting focus from development on its current product offerings to create a telemedicine solution, Presence, for distribution by medical societies and health systems.
Presence is being made available free of charge until June 30, 2020, in an effort to help doctors and patients adapt quickly to the current healthcare environment. Presence was developed in partnership with the North Carolina Medical Society.
By leveraging components of its existing product lines, The Recovery Platform, OCHI and Chart(x) EHR, Greenlight was able to rapidly deploy a solution that meets the needs of medical practices currently lacking telemedicine technology as they work to meet the needs of their patients in this time of “social distancing” and “shelter-in-place” orders.
Presence can be deployed within 5 minutes, allows for patient self-scheduling, text and email-based communications, and audio/video visits between providers and patients. Presence is meant to be used alongside a practice’s existing EHR solutions in an effort to reduce disruption.
